Mrs. Peterson

Mrs. Peterson has been teaching for six years at Southwest Middle School and three years in the STEAM team.  Originally, from Pennsylvania, Mrs. Peterson moved to Florida to attend the University of South Florida and pursue her teaching degree.  She loved Florida’s sunny weather so much she decided to stay.  She currently teaches both 6th & 7th grade Advanced Reading.  This is her fourth year as an advisor for NJHS.  In her first year, Mrs. Peterson took students to Chicago; last year the NJHS visited Boston and this year, the NJHS will be traveling to San Fransisco.  Mrs. Peterson believes that leaders are made, not born and experiences are what make a leader.  Her goal as an advisor is to help students realize their potential as a leader and teach them real-world problem solving skills.

Southwest Middle School's National Junior Honor Society would get nowhere without our two fantastic advisors!
