NJHS and PTA HOST ANNUAL HAUNTED LOCKER ROOM AND CARNIVAL
By Stephen Mansker
On Saturday October 25th SWMS hosted our annual Haunted Locker Room and carnival. The theme of the locker room was “Insane Asylum.” The PTA hosted the event, as it has for many years now, however the haunted locker room decorations and actors were courtesy of Mr. Peterson and the Art Club. They did a great job!
Inside the gym there were games for kids of all ages to play for 50 cents apiece. The games were sponsored by NJHS, Book Club and Robotics. Games included a football toss, ghost bowling, sack races, remote controlled car races, ladder golf and even a guessing game. Students tried to guess the amount of candy corns in a container: the winner was Katelyn Williams. All games earned at least one ticket which could be exchanged for candy. Also available, free to the community, were crafts such as bags to decorate, headbands and other assorted Halloween freebies. A concession stand was set up with pizza, candy, water and soda. There was great fun had by all. A special thank you to the Administration, staff, PTA, and the wonderful volunteers of SWMS who came out to help make it a successful night!
